Whilst he was there, he casually mentioned his interest in one day owning a vineyard to some family friends who had a ranch in Rutherford.  The next day the phone rang and his friends offered to sell their land, he loved it so much, that he bought it and founded Cakebread Cellars shortly after.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"c2\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"c1\"\u003eInitially a small, family-run business based in Rutherford, Cakebread has flourished and its wines are now distributed worldwide.
