Although the estate has history that dates back to the 12th Century, it is only in recent times that Château d'Esclans has become known for producing some of the best rosé wines in existence.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has been owned and run by Bordeaux native Sacha Lichine (formerly of Château Lascombes) since 2006 and along with the late Patrick Léon (formally the Managing Director of Mouton Rothschild), Sacha set out to craft a world-class brand that aims to produce the greatest rosé on the planet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe estate has 108 acres of vineyards with the primary grape grown on the property being Grenache followed by Vermentino (Rolle). Other grapes include Cinsault, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Tibouren.
