This arrived in 2001 in the form of Pintia, where the Vega Sicilia team have succeeded in bringing freshness and ageability to the wine without sacrificing the wild, potent character of the appellation. It’s a sophisticated red that is ready to enjoy now but will happily sit in your cellar for another decade. The 2020 comes from a much warmer, more intense growing season. To keep the wine elegant, the winemakers used clay amphorae (large jars) during ageing to preserve the fruit's freshness. This is a big, \"hugging\" wine - it’s juicy and full of character, with flavours of ripe prunes, violets, and black plums. It is bold, lush, and unapologetically rich.
