So when his uncle retired in 1987, Yves jumped at the chance to run the family estate. At the time, Condrieu was relatively unknown, and Yves’ perfectionist approach from vine-planting to wine bottling resulted in wines that were to grab the attention of both consumers and critics – making them hugely in-demand, and raising the profile of the appellation as a whole.
