Crafted in the historic bourbon heartland of Bardstown, this exceptional sour mash whiskey is a true hidden gem within their world famous portfolio. Bottled at a warming fifty point five percent alcohol by volume, it perfectly captures a classic style of American whiskey production, offering an incredibly rich and powerful drinking experience that stands out from lighter modern blends. In the glass, it pours a beautiful deep amber and opens with a highly inviting perfume of crisp orchard apple, toasted cedar, and rich vanilla. On the palate, the higher alcohol strength acts as a brilliant carrier for intense, concentrated flavour. Every sip delivers generous waves of dark caramel, sweet baking spice, and a subtle touch of leather, all melting into a wonderfully long, warming, and distinctly spicy finish. Despite its undeniable power, it remains remarkably smooth and deeply satisfying. Originally created back in the nineteen sixties, the bottle features a beautifully vintage heritage aesthetic that looks absolutely fantastic sitting on any home bar. Because it possesses such a bold and intensely flavoured character, this is a spectacular bourbon to use as a foundation for classic mixed drinks. Pour a generous measure over a large block of ice to enjoy it slowly, or use it to build an incredibly rich and punchy Old Fashioned to draw a relaxed weekend evening to a close.
