Bellavista | Lombardy

Bellavista sits in the heart of Franciacorta in Lombardy, Northern Italy, taking its name from the magnificent views across Lake Iseo toward the Alps. Founded by Vittorio Moretti, the estate spans numerous small vineyards spread across the rolling hills of the region. These hillside plots are heavily influenced by the deep glacial soils and the cooling breezes off the lake, creating the perfect microclimate for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes that retain incredible freshness and energy.

What sets these sparkling wines apart is the sheer level of detail in the winemaking. Every grape is picked by hand and pressed extremely gently. Unlike many producers, the winery ferments a significant portion of its base wines in older oak casks. This does not make the wine taste woody, but instead naturally rounds out the texture and introduces those luxurious, creamy pastry and subtle vanilla notes that make these sparkling wines so appealing. It takes years of patient bottle ageing in their extensive cellars to achieve that signature fine, elegant fizz.

The estate is instantly recognisable on the shelf thanks to its beautifully distinctive, wide-bottomed bottles, designed exclusively by the founder to reflect the broad, rich character of the wine inside. Beyond the striking design, the winery holds a deep cultural connection to Italian arts, acting as the official wine of Milan's legendary La Scala opera house. It is a producer that perfectly captures Italian glamour and craftsmanship, offering a highly rewarding pour for any celebration or Friday night treat.
