At Hic!, we believe the journey a wine takes to reach you is just as important as the winemaking itself. Because a bottle of wine is heavy, fragile, and sensitive to travel, we refuse to compromise on logistics.
We partner exclusively with DPD, the UK’s leading premium carrier, and use specialist PulpSafe packaging to ensure your wine arrives safely, securely, and in pristine condition.
OUR DELIVERY TIMELINES
To offer you access to our extensive range of over 2,000 wines, we operate a dual-stock system:
- Standard Despatch (2–3 Working Days): The vast majority of our orders are fulfilled directly from our immediate Ledston shop stock and arrive within 2 to 3 working days.
- Bonded Reserve Consolidation (5–7 Working Days): Select extended-range or high-volume lines are drawn directly from our temperature-controlled Bonded Reserve. We consolidate these specific lines weekly to personally inspect every bottle and ensure perfect condition before despatch.
If your order requires drawing from our bonded reserve, it will take 5 to 7 working days to arrive. As part of our quality guarantee, we perform an immediate stock check upon receiving your order. On the rare occasion a wine is undergoing a vintage change or requires a substitution, we will contact you personally to advise on the best alternatives.
TRANSPARENT DELIVERY CHARGES
Our delivery charges reflect the genuine expense of secure packaging, transit insurance, and a fully tracked 24-hour courier service.
Please note: The delivery services listed below outline the courier transit time once your order has been despatched. While standard orders are despatched within 2–3 days, orders requiring bonded reserve consolidation are subject to a 5–7 working day timeline prior to despatch.

Shipping heavy, multi-bottle cases of fragile glass to non-mainland or Highland addresses requires specialist courier routing. For multi-bottle orders (over 2kg) to the postcodes listed below, a flat-rate delivery fee applies (typically a 48–72 hour transit service):

We proudly ship using PulpSafe bottle packaging. This is not standard polystyrene; it is a heavy-duty, highly protective system made in the UK from 100% recycled materials.
- Protection: Offers the absolute highest level of shock absorption for heavy glass.
- Eco-Credentials: Fully compostable. You can place it in your home compost, use it as a garden planter, or recycle it alongside regular cardboard.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY DETAILS
ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED:
Due to UK licensing laws, DPD cannot leave your order in a safe place without a signature from a person over 18.
TRACKING YOUR WINE:
On the morning of your delivery, you will receive a 1-hour time slot via email or SMS. We highly recommend downloading the DPD App to manage your delivery on the go.
