Georgia is widely recognized as the "Cradle of Wine," with a winemaking history that stretches back over 8,000 years. This is a landscape where wine is not just a product, but a fundamental part of the national identity and soul. While many regions have modernized, Georgia has uniquely preserved its ancient traditions, most notably the use of the Qvevri—large, egg-shaped clay vessels buried underground for fermentation and aging. This UNESCO-protected method produces wines with extraordinary texture, stability, and a depth of flavour that is unlike anything else in the world.

The star of the Georgian red grapes is Saperavi. Known as a "teinturier" grape because it has both red skin and red flesh, it produces wines of immense power, deep ink-like colour, and rich flavours of dark berries, spice, and liquorice. Whether made in a modern style or the traditional Qvevri method, Saperavi is a bold, structured wine built for hearty food and long aging.

For white wine lovers, Georgia offers the unique category of Amber wine (often called Orange wine). By fermenting white grapes like Rkatsiteli or Mtsvane in Qvevris with their skins, seeds, and sometimes stems, winemakers create wines with a stunning golden hue and tea-like tannins. These wines are celebrated for their complex aromas of dried apricots, walnuts, and wild herbs.
