Bodega Tamerán | Gran Canaria

Vineyards of Bodega Tamerán in Gran Canaria, Spain

Nestled high in the volcanic heart of Gran Canaria sits Bodega Tamerán. This exciting winery was born in 2019 from a shared passion between former professional footballer David Silva and highly respected winemaker Jonatan García. Together, they have set out to showcase the true essence of the Canary Islands, producing wines that speak vividly of their dramatic island origins.

Located in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the vineyards cling to steep slopes at an altitude of 700 metres. Here, the unique volcanic soil and Atlantic climate provide the perfect home for native grape varieties that are rarely seen anywhere else in the world.

Tamerán focuses entirely on capturing the bright, mineral energy of these local grapes. Whether it is the textured and aromatic Marmajuelo, the fresh and floral Vijariego Blanco, the deeply concentrated Baboso Blanco, or the beautifully crisp Malvasía Volcánica, each bottle offers a genuine taste of the island's rugged landscape.

The winemaking approach is gentle and respectful. By stepping back and allowing the natural character of the fruit to shine through without heavy oak interference, the resulting wines are incredibly elegant, fresh, and engaging.

If you are looking to explore the thrilling world of Canary Island wines, Bodega Tamerán is the perfect starting point. These are vibrant, soulful wines that bring the warmth, minerality, and spirit of Gran Canaria straight to your glass. They pair effortlessly with fresh seafood and light salads, but are equally brilliant when simply enjoyed on their own.
