Founded by Pedro Pecina Gil in 1992 after his long tenure as a master viticulturalist at La Rioja Alta, the winery immediately focused on farming high-altitude vineyards in Rioja Alavesa to produce wines of profound finesse and structure.

They prioritise vineyard health and low yields, followed by extended aging in mostly neutral American oak barrels and, critically, long bottle aging before release.
