CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Cabernet Sauvignon is a well known grape variety used to great effect in Bordeaux, France where it is vitally important to the classic wines of the Médoc. Here it is blended alongside Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot to produce truly world-class wines. Cabernet Sauvignon makes wines that are rich and deep coloured, with intense black fruit flavours of blackcurrants and black cherries. In general Cabernet Sauvignon produces wines with lots of tannins and is often blended with the Merlot grape to produce a softer finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in many wine producing countries and performs well in Australia, California and Chile.
