Château Kirwan | Margaux

The Château Kirwan in Margaux, Bordeaux

Château Kirwan is a wine estate in Bordeaux owned by the Schÿler family. The Grand Vin produced here was classified as one of fourteen Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. Founded in 1751 by Sir John Collingwood, it became Château Kirwan after the legacy to his son Mark Kirwan. The Schÿler family acquired the estate in 1925 and today, Jean Henri Schÿler lives in the château, sharing his passion of the terroir with the new generation, very much involved in the family business : Sophie (development and communication), Nathalie (oenotourism) and Yann (in charge of the family négociant house, Maison Schroder & Schÿler). In 2007, the family hired Philippe Delfaut, ex-winemaker at Château Palmer to run the estate as Managing Director.
