Tucked away in a private valley within the wild and picturesque village of Correns - France's first 100% organic commune - Château Miraval is a remarkable estate surrounded by ancient woodlands and olive groves. In 2012, owner Brad Pitt formed a masterful partnership with the Perrin family, the renowned winemakers behind Château de Beaucastel, to oversee production. Their shared dedication to quality has firmly established the estate as one of the great modern names in Provence rosé.
The magic of these French wines begins in the 50 hectares of terraced vineyards, planted at an altitude of 350 metres. This elevation provides cool nights to moderate the warm Mediterranean days, ensuring the grapes retain their crisp acidity and delicate aromas. Crucially, the clay and chalk soils perfectly regulate the water supply to the vines. To guarantee the utmost quality, all grapes are hand-picked in the cool early mornings and meticulously hand-sorted twice.
The resulting portfolio is spectacular. The classic Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé offers a beautiful pale pink expression with enticing aromas of raspberry, cherry, and hints of garrigue, finishing with a crisp, perfumed elegance. The estate also produces an attractive, slightly textured white wine crafted entirely from the Rolle grape, alongside vibrant, terroir-driven expressions like the high-altitude Sainte Victoire Rosé. The estate's deep-rooted creative history is even honoured in the beautifully blended Studio Rosé, paying tribute to the legendary musicians who have recorded at the iconic on-site studio over the decades.
