Domaine des Bosquets | Gigondas

Nestled at the foot of the breathtaking Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine des Bosquets boasts over six centuries of winemaking history, home to the very first recorded plantings in Gigondas back in 1376. Today, the estate spans twenty-six hectares of vines, some reaching up to seventy-five years of age. Current custodian Julien Bréchet has meticulously mapped the vineyards into three distinct soil types across different elevations. From high-altitude marl down through sandy clay to lower levels of blue clay, this precise understanding of the land allows him to capture completely different levels of ripeness and flavour in his Southern Rhône grapes.

To ensure the absolute best quality, all the vines are cordon-trained, allowing the grapes perfect exposure to the sun and vital ventilation from the mountain breezes. Following a careful hand harvest and a rigorous sorting process, Julien is actively converting the entire estate to organic and biodynamic farming. This dedication to natural balance results in red wine of such elegance and floral finesse that the estate's style has been famously compared to the incredibly refined, delicate wines of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy.

Since taking over his family's property in 2009, Julien has fundamentally changed the direction of the estate. Rather than blending all his fruit into a single village wine, his focus on single-parcel bottlings has completely redefined what people expect from a Gigondas wine. His modern, terroir-driven approach has seen him quickly climb to the very top tier of quality, not just within the local village, but across the entire Rhône Valley. These highly sought-after bottles offer an incredibly pure, elegant taste of classic French wine that stands out on any dinner table.
