The Bodegas y Viñedos Alnardo Psi is a brilliantly refined Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero, created by acclaimed winemaker Peter Sisseck alongside viticulturist Pablo Rubio. Together they established the winery in collaboration with local growers to rescue and preserve the region's ancient bush vines. By blending 90% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with 10% Garnacha sourced from old vineyards across twelve villages, they capture the true, vibrant character of the land. On pouring, the wine is deep ruby in colour with a wonderful aromatic and inviting profile. On the palate expect a generous mouthful of ripe dark cherries, blackberries, and juicy plums, layered with fragrant violets, liquorice, and a subtle touch of wild herbs and warming spice. Because the wine is fermented in concrete tanks and aged gently in large wooden vats and older oak barrels, the fruit feels remarkably pure, fresh, and silky from the very first sip. This is a standout bottle to open for a special weekend dinner. Its supple structure and vibrant dark fruit pair brilliantly with a Sunday roast leg of lamb, a grilled ribeye steak, or a slow-cooked beef and chorizo stew.
