The Feudi di San Gregorio Winey in Sorbo Serpico

Situated in the ancient winemaking village of Sorbo Serpico, Feudi di San Gregorio has transformed the landscape of southern Italian wine since its establishment in 1986. The estate sits in a region where viticultural records stretch back to 590 AD, yet its vineyards benefit from a highly specific geographic advantage. Grown close to Mount Vesuvius, the vines are rooted in sandstone and marl soils layered with mineral-rich volcanic ash. This unique geological footprint imparts deeply distinctive aromas and a striking mineral tension to every bottle.

Rather than relying on international grape varieties, the estate has dedicated significant research into unlocking the potential of native vines. By meticulously examining soil compositions and identifying the strongest clones, they coax exceptional character out of key indigenous grapes such as Fiano, Greco, Falanghina, and the powerfully structured red Aglianico. The result is a vibrant, modern take on deeply traditional flavours, bridging the gap between ancient winemaking heritage and contemporary drinking.

The Capaldo and Ercolino families founded the estate with a clear vision to elevate the region to a global standard, backing this up with a spectacular, multi-million-euro winery. This commitment to both the vineyard and the cellar has won over a broad spectrum of drinkers. By allowing the volcanic energy of the soil to dictate the final liquid, they consistently produce Campania wine that speaks clearly of its explosive origins, offering an incredibly captivating experience in the glass.
