Telmo Rodríguez Dehesa Gago is a remarkably pure red wine sourced from the Toro region of Spain. Crafted entirely from Tinta de Toro, a local clone of the famous Tempranillo grape, it offers a thoroughly authentic expression of the local fruit without the masking effects of heavy barrel ageing. To maintain this natural focus, the winemaking team ferments the wine across large concrete, steel, and old wooden vats. It is then aged exclusively in stainless steel, undergoing a careful series of rackings to gently mature the wine through natural air exposure. Bottled with minimal intervention and just a necessary touch of sulphur for stability, the resulting wine relies entirely on its natural grape tannins and acidity to build its structural framework. In the glass, it delivers a deeply concentrated profile packed with rich dark fruit and a vibrant energy. The palate is firmly structured yet completely approachable, leading to a clean, unwooded finish. It is an excellent bottle for the dining table, pairing perfectly with roasted lamb, grilled chorizo, or a hearty bean stew.
