Lombardy is a powerhouse of Northern Italy, located between the Alps and the Po Valley. It is a region of immense geographic diversity, featuring mist-covered lakes, rolling hills, and dramatic mountain terraces. This varied landscape allows Lombardy to produce some of Italy's most sophisticated wines, ranging from prestigious traditional-method sparkles to some of the most elegant and ethereal red wines in the country.

The region's crowning glory is Franciacorta, Italy's answer to Champagne. Crafted using the traditional method, these sparkling wines are celebrated for their fine bubbles, creamy texture, and complex flavours of brioche and citrus. In the far north, the steep, sun-drenched terraces of Valtellina are home to the Nebbiolo grape (locally known as Chiavennasca). Unlike the powerful styles found in Piedmont, Lombardy’s mountain Nebbiolo is prized for its delicacy, floral aromatics, and vibrant acidity. Whether you are seeking a celebratory sparkle or a refined, cool-climate red, Lombardy offers a masterclass in Italian elegance and precision.
