Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Premier Cru Vaulorent 2019
Vaulorent is a renowned Premier Cru vineyard located in Chablis, the famous cool-climate wine region of northern Burgundy. What makes this specific site so extraordinary is its geography: it is the only Premier Cru vineyard in Chablis that sits on the very same hillside as the region's elite Grand Crus, sharing a direct boundary with Les Preuses. Because of this rare terroir, Domaine William Fèvre crafts a Chardonnay here that delivers the depth, structure, and intense minerality usually reserved for bottles twice the price. The winemaking in the cellar is carefully measured. Hand-harvested fruit is fermented and aged in neutral, old French oak barrels, building a round, silky texture without imparting heavy woody flavours. In the glass, it opens with rich aromas of yellow plum, lemon curd, and a distinct chalky salinity. The palate is concentrated and structured, balancing ripe orchard fruit against a long, mouth-watering finish. It is an exceptional white Burgundy for anyone seeking near–Grand Cru quality, pairing magnificently with seared scallops, roast chicken, or turbot in a light cream sauce.
