Marbury Chardonnay 2023

Marbury Chardonnay is a stunning, richly textured English white wine grown in the sunniest corner of Essex. Rooted in the dense London clay soils of the Crouch Valley, the vines enjoy a remarkably warm and dry climate. This allows the Chardonnay grapes to ripen fully and evenly, building an incredible depth of flavour that rivals classic European alternatives while maintaining a beautiful natural freshness. In the winery, the fruit is treated with the utmost care, fermenting gently in French oak barrels to add luxurious weight and complexity. In the glass, it opens with inviting aromas of warm stem ginger, salted butter, and toasted hazelnut. Every sip is incredibly smooth and rounded, delivering a vibrant core of ripe white peach and fresh apricot, all wrapped up in a savoury, creamy texture that lingers on the finish. Rather than serving it ice cold, this is a wine that truly shines when allowed to warm slightly in the glass, letting those rich oak flavours open up. It is a spectacular choice for a special weekend dinner. Pair a bottle with a classic roast turkey, a comforting mushroom risotto, or a cheeseboard featuring a creamy British Brie and a nutty, hard cheese.
