Spain is a land of breathtaking landscapes and a rich cultural heritage that stands alongside France and Italy as a global winemaking titan. In recent years, a dynamic new wave of winemakers has embraced the country’s incredible regional diversity, moving away from "stuffy" traditions toward vibrant, fruit-driven styles that truly express the unique character of the Spanish terrain. From the dramatic mountain chains of the north to the vast, sun-baked central plateau, the geography of the country defines the many varied wine styles it produces.

In the northwest, the lush, Atlantic-influenced valleys of Green Spain specialise in zesty white wines like Albariño and Godello. Moving inland, the Ebro River Valley is the spiritual home of Tempranillo, where the world-famous vineyards of Rioja sit protected by towering mountain ranges. Nearby, the Duero River Valley in Castilla y León is celebrated for the mineral-rich whites of Rueda and the powerful, bold reds of Ribera del Duero.

The Mediterranean Coast offers everything from the prestigious, volcanic reds of Priorat to the celebratory sparkle of Cava, while the enormous Meseta central plateau is a treasure trove of exceptional value Garnacha and Tempranillo. To the south, the historic region of Andalucía remains the undisputed home of Sherry, while the Islands—from the Balearics to the volcanic Canary Islands—offer rare and adventurous styles. Whether you are looking for a crisp, coastal white or a deep, savoury red, the modern spirit of Spain delivers incredible quality and excitement in every glass.
