Inama Carmenere Più 2024
The Inama Carmenere Più is a dark and deeply fruity Veneto red wine from the Colli Berici. While the estate is famous for its whites, this neighbouring area is defined by hot, iron-rich limestone soils that are strictly suited to red grapes. The winemaking team blends predominantly Carmenère with a small addition of Merlot, resting the juice in oak to soften the tannins and build a plush texture. In the glass, it delivers concentrated notes of black cherry and ripe plum, followed by distinct hints of dark cocoa and a signature crack of black pepper on the finish. This comforting and accessible Italian red wine is an ideal companion for hearty, savoury dining. The rich dark fruit and peppery spice make it a superb match for a traditional Sunday roast beef, a slow-cooked beef ragù tossed with fresh pappardelle, or a thick, grilled ribeye steak. It also has the weight to sit comfortably alongside heavily seasoned game meats or a board of mature hard cheeses.
