Dr Loosen Red Slate Riesling Dry is a finely structured, bone-dry white wine that perfectly captures the unique terroir of the Middle Mosel. The fruit is hand-harvested from estate-owned plots characterised by iron-rich red Devonian slate. Following traditional family methods, the juice undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in large, neutral three-thousand-litre oak casks, followed by a full twelve months of undisturbed maturation on the lees to build natural stability and texture. The finished wine offers brilliant aromas of red apple, passion fruit, and grapefruit, underscored by a pronounced mineral complexity and earthy spice. On the palate, it delivers a powerful, focused structure where dense orchard fruit is held perfectly in check by a racy, vibrant vein of crisp acidity, leading into a clean, naturally balanced finish. While its crisp profile make it a highly sophisticated white to pour and enjoy entirely on its own as a weekend aperitif, it is a versatile partner at the table. It balances beautifully alongside grilled sea bass, fresh seafood, or light, aromatic poultry dishes.
