ITALY

Italy is a mosaic of flavour, tradition, and landscape, where wine is woven into the very fabric of daily life. As a country comprised of nearly 80% hills and mountains, it offers a diverse range of altitudes and microclimates that no other nation can match. With a history stretching back 3,000 years, Italy today balances ancient heritage with a modern, pioneering spirit, boasting nearly 400 indigenous grape varieties that offer something unique for every palate.

In the North, the focus is on structure, alpine freshness, and world-class bubbles. Piedmont is the legendary home of the noble Nebbiolo grape, producing the hauntingly aromatic, age-worthy wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. To the east, the Veneto is famous for the rich, dried-fruit decadence of Amarone and Valpolicella Ripasso, alongside the crisp, floral joy of Prosecco.

Beyond these titans, the North holds more treasures. High in the Alps, Lombardy produces Franciacorta, Italy’s answer to Champagne, and the rugged, high-altitude Nebbiolos of Valtellina. In the far northeast, Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia set the global standard for white wines. Here, the cooling mountain air creates piercingly fresh Pinot Grigio, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc, and the unique, floral Friulano.

Central Italy is the spiritual heart of the peninsula, dominated by the rolling hills of Tuscany. Here, the Sangiovese grape reaches its peak, producing everything from vibrant, food-friendly Chianti Classico to the sophisticated and powerful Brunello di Montalcino. Across the Apennines, the Marche and Abruzzo provide a refreshingly different perspective, with the saline, mineral-driven whites of Verdicchio and the plush, brambly reds of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.

As you move South, the wines become bolder and more sun-baked. In Campania and Basilicata, you will find Aglianico, often called the "Nebbiolo of the South" for its incredible grace and longevity. Puglia offers the luscious, velvety Primitivo, while the islands of Sicily and Sardinia bring a wild, Mediterranean energy to the glass. From the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna to the rugged coastlines of the south, our collection celebrates the incredible individuality and tireless passion of Italian winemaking.
